Dr Michael Peterson

Dr Peterson consults Tuesday and Wednesday and bi-weekly visits to selected aged care facilities.

Dr Peterson’s interests in medicine include the everyday challenge of comprehensive holistic general practice care.

Dr Peterson graduated from the University of Sydney in 1985. He was an intern and resident medical officer at Hornsby Hospital in 1985-1986, with a secondment to Hawkesbury Hospital. In 1987, he undertook a three-month rural GP term in Coonabarabran, spent three months travelling overseas, and completed a three-month term in paediatrics at Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital, followed by a three-month city GP term in Epping, Sydney. Dr Peterson moved to Newcastle in 1988 and studied obstetrics & gynaecology (obtaining the Diploma of Obstetrics) and also anaesthetics. He moved to Coonabarabran in 1989, and for the next seven years provided general practice consultations along with obstetric and anaesthetic services to the local hospital. After a year on the coast he moved to Dubbo in December 1996 and has been here ever since.

He also took the initiative to undertake postgraduate study in the area of skin cancer medicine.

His wife Allyson who works in the Practice as a Medical Practice Assistant have a passion for providing care to underprivileged people overseas in Nepal and visit yearly as able.

Michael is one of the contractor GP’s working from DFD.

Dr Andrew Moreton

Dr Andrew consults Tuesday, Wednesday and every second Friday.

Dr Andrew has been actively involved in medical education for more than 20 years and teaches medical students and GP registrars.​

His special interests are mental health and medical education.​

Sr Anne Vail

Anne is a registered Nurse Practitioner and leads the clinical support team at Dubbo Family Doctors. Nurse Practitioners can assess and diagnose patients, request and interpret tests, prescribe therapies and medications and make referrals to other health practitioners.

Anne is able to work independently or in partnership with your regular GP If you are not able to book an appointment with your regular GP or would prefer to speak to a female clinican.

Dr Keshini Kanthan

Keshini consults Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with several sessions dedicated to Telehealth appointments ideally suited to caring for patients who have difficulty attending the practice in person.

Keshini completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery with Western Sydney University in 2018. She has worked in various communities across Central West NSW including Bathurst, Orange and Coonamble and completed her training in General Practice in Dubbo.

In her spare time she enjoys seeing her family, friends and dog, attending concerts of her favourite artists and watching dramas/anime. She has played the Carnatic flute since the age of 14 and continues to do so for leisure. Whenever possible she also enjoys social team sports such as netball, touch football or cricket.

Dr Ai-Vee Chua

Dr Ai-Vee is currently on sabbatical, studying a Master of Digital Health with a major in Data Analytics. 

Dr Ai-Vee is an experienced and compassionate GP who has been looking after families in Dubbo since 2002. She values building strong, long-term relationships with her patients so that she can provide care that truly fits their needs. Dr Ai-Vee is passionate about helping patients stay healthy by diagnosing and treating problems early, supporting healthy living, and providing high quality care that continues through every stage of life.

She is also deeply committed to improving access to healthcare for people living in rural communities. Dr Ai-Vee serves on several local and state-level committees, contributes to medical research, and helps write clinical guidelines tailored for health professionals in Western NSW. She is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of rural doctors and strengthening the healthcare system from the ground up. Outside of her medical work, Dr Ai-Vee enjoys playing music, growing fruits and veggies, and spending time with her three children.
